International Criminal Court
Referring North Korea to the ICC would not only rid the country of its true criminals, but also improve the lives of the general population. This solution, proposed by the United Nations, plans to arrest all individuals responsible for crimes against humanity committed in North Korea, and promote democracy in the DPRK. The UN threatens to refer North Korea to the ICC, hoping that this would pressure the country's leaders to respond and improve the lives of its people. The UN has also threatened to place economic sanctions on North Korea in order to Pressure the North to compply with demands. However, economic sanctions would do more damage to the already suffering population in North Korea, and North Korea has continued to refuse cooperation with the UN and has denied the UN access to their country.
